Have you ever been to pidginlondon but? This Fashionable European restaurant in Hackney opened in 2015 with one easy thought: serve a weekly altering menu; by no means repeat something. We dined on the 10th of October and loved the tasting menu that includes monkfish, mangalitsa and madeira. 🤗
The night began with some scrumptious snacks; carrot, beluga lentil and tomato, harrisa + black lime. The menu affords a collection of extras which we couldn’t resist when ordering the Parker home roll, brown butter and all-star hen liver parfait. Tender, fluffy bread and moreish pate, what a combo. 🍞
Tonight’s fish dish was monkfish which got here with celeriac and black pudding. We added fish roe which added salty little packets of goodness to the plate. Certainly one of my favorite dishes got here subsequent – potato rosti, chilli and radish, so easy however superb flavour and textures. 🐟
Two pork dishes (mangaliseta) ed, the primary with ginjinha and beetroot. The second with fennel and cabbage. 🐷
Pidgin served a palate cleanser earlier than dessert made up of fig, buttermilk and almonds. The following dish introduced collectively candy and savour flavours together with nasturtium ice cream, potato pores and skin and an apple puree. 🍏
We completed up with cinnamon berry and madiera pastel de natas and a tiny pistachio and raspberry deal with. 🍮
The meals at Pidgin fully fits it’s unassuming, cosy and easy branding. For non locals it’s a bit of out the best way however completely well worth the trek. We left full however not stuffed which typically isn’t the case after a tasting menu. Total we loved the Pidgin expertise and can deff be recommending it! 🐦
